Bis repetita, 2018

Video performance, 8 min
A1 heavyweight white paper

Bis Repetita is an eight-minute performance in which the artist attempts to produce two identical balls from large sheets of heavyweight paper. The material resists being compressed by hand alone, requiring the pressure and weight of the entire body. Each attempt generates a new form, but never an exact repetition.

What begins as a simple task gradually becomes a test of endurance. The effort leaves visible marks on the body, while the accumulated pain increasingly affects the possibility of continuing. The performance ends not with the successful completion of the task, but when the body can no longer sustain the attempt. Through this deliberately impossible repetition, the work exposes the gap between instruction and result, and the physical cost of pursuing an unattainable standard.
